mysteries of social networks.

In Facebook, whenever I post a status message or a pic, there are people who usually say a line or two. I can almost count on them to make me feel that whatever I said or did was worth their while, as well. Or they just have not seen me for a long long time. It could also be because they are too polite. =)

The funny part is this: My best friends are usually the ones who are silent. They would rather chat with me, and I think they know that the things that I have been writing down are a bit of small talk or a shallow part of my day or my life and what they really wanted is a deeper conversation. They wanted more than the one-liners I can share. I think the friends who try to comment, are also giving me a chance to be their good friend.

Another funny part is this: I checked out this application that says "who is checking your profile." I wonder how accurate that is because the people in the top ten has not been commenting or sending me a private message even. Glad to know that they too would like to know more about my life, too.

Whatever the reason, people are looking for a way to keep tabs with families and friends.

Quitting Social Networks.

One person I know told friends that her new year's resolution include using Facebook for only an hour a week. I wonder how she can do that when there are loads of things to do in Facebook, and at this point, she is not even down to an hour a day. I know cause I see her posts. I realized that Facebook has become among the guilty pleasures of this era.

It will be hard to let go of social netwroking sites if you are far away from family and friends. Facebook and the like makes you feel that you are having recess and listening to your friends tell you about their lives and the latest trends. It's a blast to find out what my friends whom I have not seen in years look like and how they feel at this point. This is so important to us Filipinos since most of us have family and friends who are working abroad.

Facebook has different games that people can play with. A lot of my friends are addicted to these games and the fact that you can like play with your other friends makes it look like you are back in the front yard running around or playing pretend.

In short, we are all in a social networking site because we want to connect with others. We would like to let them know how we are, and we also would like to find out about them. Social networking sites bridge the gap between and among friends, and makes the world a smaller and hopefully, a better place for all of us. =)

love affair with footwear

All girls love shoes and footwear. For a long time now, I have been quite a fan of flip flops because as they have become an acceptable part of an everyday get-up, it affords a person such a comfort. It is literally a breath of fresh air. I have almost forgotten some of the sandals or shoes that I have at home. Here are two of what I have been wearing the past month.

The first one is a pink beaded Sandals. It is quite cute. The second one are ballet flats that can be worn both ways. That, I guess, is the lure. If you get tired of the design in the middle of the day, you can just use the other side...and it looks like you have a different pair altogether. Cool.
